Abstract

Despite the rich experience of using placebo in medicine, many aspects of its presence in clinical practice are ambiguous. The article analyzes the conditions under which the use of placebo is justified during a clinical experiment, as well as possible ethical conflicts caused by the properties of placebo. The authors noted the need to correlate the placebo effect with modern standards of medical care, as well as to maintain a balance between the effectiveness of treatment results and bioethical principles.
